Under the motto "Attracting tomorrow's new recruits" as part of the Greven secondary school industry rally, almost 30 students visited the Emsdetten on 1 September. Following a brief introduction to the company, the students were soon in the laboratory where, via various testing processes, they learnt more about the role of a textile laboratory assistant. They were enthusiastically supported by colleagues from the laboratory, who helpfully answered questions from the curious students. To give interested students closer insight into the professional areas of electronics for plant technology, industrial engineering and production engineering, colleagues from metalworking and the marketing team constructed a fantastic model work space. This will be put to immediate use for trainee fairs and other informational events designed to help people explore different professional areas.
To learn more about the available careers and what they involve on a day-to-day basis, students could independently fit a chain on one side of the model work space, such as is found on the machines in production. On the other side, they were able tension and release a pulley. Students were able to explore the role of the electronics engineer and the routine tasks it entails on the front of the carriage.
