Development of switchable functionalities of nonwoven surfaces for applications in the filtration and automotive sectors

Project running time: 2016/11/15 – 2019/11/14

Development of switchable functionalities of nonwoven surfaces for applications in the filtration and automotive sectors (NGF 2.0) in the lead market competition “EnergieUmweltwirtschaft”.

North Rhine-Westphalia gave IUTA, together with the partners of the Deutsches Textilforschungszentrum Nordwest eV (DTNW), the K + K Wissenstransfer e. K. and two subsidiaries of the TWE Group, the application for the project NGF 2.0.

Within the scope of the project, switchable equipment solutions for nonwovens are developed. The innovative applications lie in the area of general air filtration and in the interior of vehicles. With the development results the participating companies will open up new business fields or expand their current product portfolio in the area of energy and environmental technology as well as the vehicle equipment.

In addition, the development of data management and data evaluation modules for the intelligent switching of the actuators is being stimulated by new applications in the area of industry 4.0. The project is funded by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia using funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2014-2020 "Investment in growth and employment".
