The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted in 2015 by all United Nations Member States, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which represent an urgent call to action for all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership.
Science
Targets Initiative
As TWE, we have chosen to partner with the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative). In doing so, we have committed to the WB2C climate target, meaning the "Well Below 2°C" goal, as the basis for defining our emission reduction targets.
For Scope 1 and 2 emission reductions, we have set a linear annual reduction rate of 2.5%, which will result in a 35% reduction by 2035 compared to the base year 2021. For Scope 3, we have set a linear annual reduction rate (LARR) of 2% per year, which will lead to a 28% reduction by 2035 compared to the base year 2021.

We follow the principles of the UN Global Compact and aim to integrate ISO 26000 into our quality management system.
Our sustainable solutions
rup toePEaT Circular
rePEaT Circular includes products that we manufacture using up to 100% polyester-based waste sourced from our customers. To enable this, a logistics system is required for the storage and processing of these waste materials, which are then converted into granulate. From this granulate, new polyester staple fibers are produced and reused in the manufacturing of nonwoven products. Our customers' production waste is processed into new polyester staple fibers.
rePEaT Circular also includes products manufactured with an increased proportion of recycled fibers.
This includes:
Mechanically bonded nonwovens.
These are made from up to 100% recycled PET bottles.
Thermally bonded nonwovens.
These can consist of up to 100% recycled PET bottles.
Chemically bonded nonwovens.
Here, a content of up to 75% recycled PET bottles is possible.
rePEaT Bio
rePEaT Bio includes products made from natural fibers and biodegradable fibers.
Our products are manufactured using, among others, the following fibers:
Natural fibers: jute, kenaf, hemp, bamboo fiber, wool, coconut fiber, flax, pineapple leaves, organic cotton
In addition, we also use biodegradable fibers in the production of our nonwovens.
Possible raw materials include:
- Other biopolymers
- Nonwovens made from PLA (PLA = polylactic acid), e.g. from corn or cassava
- Nonwovens made from PLA/PBS (PLA = polylactic acid, PBS = polybutylene succinate)
rePEaT Social
Our rePEaT Social products are made from ocean-bound plastic collected by people in developing countries who earn their livelihood through this work. We support organizations that pay these collectors a premium for the materials they gather. This helps them cover their families’ basic needs such as food, school fees, and health insurance. The plastic collected from plastic straws, PET bottles, or coffee cup lids.
