From fibre to functional nonwoven
With Chembond nonwovens, the bond between the fibres is created using an additional binder, e.g. latex. The fibre piles previously produced in the card and, if necessary, doubled using a cross-layer, are impregnated with the binder and then cross-linked and dried at an elevated temperature. This type of bonding produces nonwovens that have special additional properties, such as elasticity or moisture resistance, due to the type of binder.
Our Chembond production
We use our modern chembond lines to produce nonwovens that are used in the hygiene sector in particular. The type of binder and the process control allow the nonwoven to be customised.
Our chembond lines enable us to produce widths of up to 3.5 metres and grammages of 25 to 3,000 g/m².
Finishing and Further Processing of Our Chembond Nonwovens
The further processing and finishing of Chembond nonwovens offers a wide range of possibilities to tailor the material to the specific requirements and needs of various applications. Through additional treatments and enhancements, the properties of the nonwoven can be adapted and its performance optimized. For example, the material can be made water- or dirt-repellent, flame-retardant, or antimicrobial. In addition, the materials can be rewound according to individual customer specifications to ensure optimal further processing.
