Thanks to their versatile application possibilities, Roof-Protex® nonwovens are the ideal solution for protecting and optimizing roof structures and sealing balconies across a wide range of construction projects – both in renovation and new builds.
Reinforcement nonwovens are essential for sealing flat roofs, balconies, and parking decks. Especially as a carrier layer for liquid-applied waterproofing systems, they offer high permeability and excellent dry film thicknesses. Their smooth surface and easy handling make them the ideal choice for durable and resilient sealing systems. Their high absorbency enhances the adhesion of coatings and impregnating agents, making them particularly efficient for renovation and new construction projects. In addition, they are used in specialized applications such as the production of ridge and hip rolls, where they ensure optimal ventilation.
Anti-condensation nonwovens play a vital role in protecting against moisture and mold, especially in uninsulated metal roofing systems. Due to temperature differences between the interior and exterior of a building, condensation can form and cause damage. Roof-Protex® nonwovens absorb this moisture and later release it as water vapor. In addition, the nonwoven also has sound-absorbing properties – for example, in rain – significantly enhancing indoor comfort.
In the installation of roofing and sealing membranes, the carrier nonwoven improves adhesion, protects against stress from the substrate, and contributes to vapor pressure equalization. When used in roof underlay membranes, it adds stability and protects the membrane beneath.
To meet individual requirements, Roof-Protex® nonwovens are available in various fiber types such as viscose, PES, and PP. Special finishes with hydrophobic, flame-retardant, or UV-stabilized properties also allow for customized enhancement and optimized functionality of the nonwoven material.
