TWE Healthcare have developed a sophisticated range of nonwoven layers that are designed to manage the exudate produced from a wound during the healing process. These ‘Exudate Management Systems’ (EMS) are designed to work in partnership with the existing absorbent core, whether that be a foam, superabsorbent polymer substrate or fibers.
There are several benefits of incorporating an EMS within a wound dressing. The nonwoven enables the exudate to spread from the point of entry to reduce foam swelling and pressure on the wound. Furthermore our nonwoven helps to actively move the exudate to all areas of the absorbent core.
This is followed by more effective use of the core and also improves the length of time a dressing can be worn. Furthermore, it helps to keep the dressing flexible and improves conformability for difficult application areas. All of our fibers are medically approved and the products are produced on designated healthcare lines, which are FDA approved. We offer a single layer, dual layer or even a triple layer material which can also be modified to manage various different viscosities of exudates.
