iSOWOOD: sustainable natural fiber nonwovens for the automotive sector

iSOWOOD has been part of the TWE Group since January 2015 and produces natural fiber mats from bast fibers such as flax, hemp, kenaf and jute, which serve as moldable supports for components in the entire vehicle interior. These products are an environmentally friendly alternative to the conventionally used plastic injection molding, as they are produced from up to 50% renewable raw materials. iSOWOOD products can be found almost everywhere in cars. They are used, for example, as door panels, side panels, door inserts, armrests, map pockets or A-, B-, C-pillar panels, as well as seat panels, rear parcel shelves, boot linings, or tailgate panels. They are characterized by very good crash behaviour, enable weight savings and also have good acoustic properties.
