Professional support from trainers

Every trainee position is assigned a carefully chosen trainer from within the business who supports the trainee with advice and practical help. For the commercial trainee positions, there is even one person per department who is responsible for supporting trainees. While we place great emphasis on working independently, at the same time we don't want to completely abandon our trainees to their new tasks. We therefore work closely together, align ourselves on a regular basis and deal immediately with any issues that arise.

Mentor programme with experienced trainees

The company's trainers are of course always ready to listen, but there will be some questions that you'd prefer to put to other trainees. Every trainee is therefore assigned a mentor. The mentor is usually a second or third-year trainee who understands the company well, and so can make starting out that much easier.

Foreign placements

Anyone who shows commitment and performs exceptionally, both within the company and at their vocational college, has the opportunity to familiarise themselves with other locations outside of Germany. This applies in both management and commercial areas, since every plant has different production processes and so every trainee will be exposed to new experiences and knowledge during this time.

Sport and health campaigns

At TWE, we want our employees to feel fit and healthy. Thus sport and activity are very important factors, which we support with many different initiatives. For example, every trainee has the opportunity to join in the active events that are offered, such as canoeing, mountain biking or a fun triathlon. Some sites even have their own football team that regularly trains together after work, and takes part in regional competitions. A particular highlight each year is taking part in the world's biggest triathlon in Hamburg. As a trainee, you are also very welcome to be a part of this. Whether it's your first job and you have just discovered a particular discipline, or you come with a wealth of experience, our professional Trainer Team creates a varied training plan specially for us, enabling everyone to get involved. If you prefer to work out on equipment or in regular classes, you can use our cooperation with the local fitness studio and our discounts, as well as benefiting from the additional support of a fitness trainer.

Cost reimbursement

In additional to practical training, we place great emphasis on good educational training. Our trainees thus attend the 'Textilakademie' college of technology in Mönchengladbach to study as production engineers and textile laboratory assistants. This vocational college specialises in particular in skilled occupations in the textiles industry, and so offers a very high quality of educational training. We cover travel costs and local accommodation expenses in Mönchengladbach. We also pay for dual study courses, examination fees, specific training courses and other education away from the workplace.

Trainee Events

Even before your first day as a trainee with us, you will be invited to a dinner with the other 'new' trainees. For most people, the apprenticeship is a completely new phase in their life, and brings with it a lot of new experiences, which may naturally also create a certain insecurity beforehand. We arrange this get-together so that you on your first day, you will recognise a few faces among your many new colleagues, and so that we can give you some background information about TWE and the people behind the company. In addition to the get-together before the apprenticeship begins, there will be regular trainee meetings throughout the apprenticeship, during which issues, praise and criticism can be discussed.

External training

With our large, complex machines and varied plants, we can offer our technical trainees a great range of diversity, but given that there are always special things that we are unable to show you during your training to the level of detail we would like, we also offer you training away from the workplace, with an external partner. For example, our Industrial Engineers can also learn about detailed turning, milling and cutting.

Exam preparation

To ensure our trainees get through the final exams successfully, without problems and with no sleepless nights, where necessary we also offer external intensive training before the final exams, as well as opportunities in-house to practise presentations and clarify any final unanswered questions. .

Networking & project work

We are convinced that success ultimately depends partly on how we work together, share knowledge, communicate and pursue shared objectives as a team. In a corporate group with different locations, that means building a network outside of your own location, and working together. To embed this in practice at an early stage, all the trainees in a year's intake from all locations in Germany regular meet at what we call the 'Youngsters'-Network' (or: Y-Net). This is designed to help the trainees gain active experience with the help of joint, exciting and practical projects, and understand what our corporate group is capable of. We place particular emphasis on collaboration between new sales people and technical Trainees.

Good job prospects

Generally speaking, we provide training with a view to offering our trainees a permanent contract following their apprenticeship. Many of our former trainees are now permanent members of the TWE team, and still benefit from their experiences during their apprenticeship.

Further education opportunities

There are plenty of opportunities for anyone keen to continue their training following the apprenticeship. For example you can qualify as a Technician or Master, and in the commercial area there is the option to train in business or business administration. There are also various opportunities for a dual study course. We are happy to offer advice and work with our trainees to find the right further education opportunity.

Looking for a holiday job or internship?

In addition to an apprenticeship, we are also happy to introduce young people to our company during an internship or holiday job.

We offer internships in the commercial as well as the technical area. For example in the commercial areas, we try to give every intern comprehensive insight into our normal working day, and the chance to familiarise themselves with many different departments. You will generally be supported by one of our trainees who will act as your mentor. We also like to take interns in the technical/industrial area, and show young innovators our exciting trainee positions.

Don't want to spend your holidays simply lazing around, but instead want to earn some money and gain some practical experience? Then a holiday job in our Production department could be perfect for you!
